Ex-Minister Urges Old Generation Politicians To Quit The Stage

 
General Ike Nwachukwu (rtd), former Foreign Affairs Minister, on Monday in Lagos, called on the nation’s old generation of political leaders to quit the stage, saying that the younger Nigerians deserved to be given the space to correct the ills of the past.
The former Senator, who stated this in a remark as Chairman of the 49^th convocation lecture of the University of Lagos (UNILAG), argued that the old generations that had committed same mistakes all the time have held on tenaciously to power for too long to the detriment of the nation and her people.
According to him the implications of keeping younger Nigerians away from the stage is that the country and the system will continue to be denied creative ideas in politics, management of the economy and progressive administration of the country.
